The film was released on 17 September 2021 in theatres. In February 2020, Arjun Sarja signed on to play a role in the film while Satish was chosen to play the supporting role of the friend of Singh's character. Sri Lankan news anchor Losliya Mariyanesan who rose to prominence after taking part in the Bigg Boss Tamil 3 reality television show aired on Star Vijay was signed on as the female lead role opposite Singh. It is also the first time that an Indian high-profile cricketer is set to play the main lead role in an Indian film. He often interacted with Tamil spectators while playing for CSK and apparently was offered the role to portray a college student from Punjab in the film.
Harbhajan was chosen to play the main lead role after becoming popular in the state of Tamil Nadu since playing for Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League. The principal photography of the film began in March 2020. Harbhajan Singh as Bhagat Singh, aka Bhajji.Rashmika Mandanna is the heroine of the film. Sukumar wanted to postpone the film, but Allu Arjun vetoed the proposal and the film is releasing as announced earlier. The delay in the shooting has altered all his plans of holding big events in cities like Dubai. Is he able to do this for a pan-Indian project? He needs to wrap all promotional events and media interviews in eight days. He has to do a lot of promotions for the Hindi and Tamil versions. The film, however, has failed to create a big buzz in North India and Tamilnadu.
“Pushpa” is scheduled to hit the theaters on December 17, 2021, worldwide in five languages. He will begin focusing on events, multi-city tours, and video interviews from December 9th. To complete the song in the next two days, Allu Arjun has canceled a promotional tour. This happens to be an item song being filmed on Allu Arjun and Samantha. The shooting of the film’s final song is still progressing. Allu Arjun doesn’t have much time in his hands to promote “Pushpa The Rise”.
